Last night, I decided to venture out to checkout Walmart's Thanksgiving sale. Who wasn't tempted by their ad with a ton of moneysaving offers?! I wish that I just stayed home.
First off, I really wasn't feeling well and had to bow out early from a family Thanksgiving dinner on account of getting sick. That should have been my first sign to stay home.
The second sign should have been that I actually forgot about shopping! By the time I get to Walmart, it is 8:01 (remember their sales start at 8). I had to park out back by the loading docks! That should have been my queue to just leave...but I drove all that way (haha the entire 15 minutes).
I will give it to the staff at my local Walmart. They were VERY well organized. Employees were scattered throughout the store to assist with questions.
I wasn't after any big ticket items, just a few cheap toys. I walked away with just one of the items on my list. Not wanting to waste a trip, I decided to grocery shop. You should have seen the looks I got when it looked like I was cutting in line for a later item with a well organized line..."nope, I'm not cutting in front of you...I really just want a package of cookies!"
I came right home and ordered everything on my list from Amazon.com for the same price (sometimes even better) than at Walmart.
Next year, I think I'm going to just stay home and love myself some Amazon.
