Funny story! Today my daughter had a birthday party to attend. I took it as an opportunity finally get some Christmas shopping done. My daughter is an 8-year old who enjoys any type of shopping. She is my little helper at the grocery store and actually takes it personally whenever I try to leave the house without her. Needless to say, holiday shopping for her this year has been kinda rough!
Anyways, I drop her off at the birthday party and head for the mall. I don't have time to run home and stash the gifts. Luckily, I had a blanket in the car. So I loaded all the Christmas gifts for my daughter in the back of the car. Keep in mind, we have a hatchback and not an actual truck. So, of course, I was a bit nervous she was going to see all her gifts from us and the jolly old red guy.
Walking out of the party, she says "I bet that I'll find my presents in the car." I quickly responded "No you won't, I just took them home." Defeated, shed sighed and got into the car.
I couldn't help but giggle the entire way home as I look in the mirror and see the giant stack of presents (still covered by the blanket) towering above her...score one for mom!
